BRONCHIECTASIS

BRONCHIECTASIS. SEVERE BREATHING. DIFFICULTIES.

SYMPTOMS OF BRONCHIECTASIS

Wheezing

Shortness of breath

Chest Pain

Coughing up blood or bloodstained phlegm

Joint pain

There are over five million people with asthma in the UK. That is one in every 12 adults. Although the respiratory system is essentially in good working order, the bronchi (small tubes carrying air in and out of the lungs) become inflamed and more sensitive than usual.

When you come into contact with something that irritates your lungs, your airways narrow, the muscles around them tighten and there is an increase in the production of sticky mucus (phlegm).

HOW OUR SALT CAN HELP

1. It kills bacteria, which is a major element of bronchiectasis.

2. It has mucolytic effects, meaning it helps to shift retained mucus and reduce the chance of infection.

3. It is anti-inflammatory.

4. It reduces IgE levels, meaning the immune system becomes less oversensitive.

OUR RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

Depending on age and severity, 20-30 sessions are recommended for long term results.

For irreversible conditions, two to three-month follow-up sessions are recommended to maintain the clear lung, ie clear the retained mucus from the humps.

The sessions should be frequent; about two or three a week is suggested.

In most patients, after a course of Salt Therapy, airways become normal and symptoms disappear. The treatment's efficacy is estimated at 75-98%. Most clients do 1-2 Salt Therapy courses a year. In-between they might come back for some top-up sessions, if they start to feel poorly, e.g. they are coming down with a cold.
